Sugar Space Foundation is a 501 C-3 Non-Profit Charitable Organization.

Our Mission:
– Provide space and opportunities for artists of all disciplines.
– Support the creation and presentation of visual and live performance works with a focus on experimentation and innovation.
– Present local and visiting artists.
– Engage the community and further appreciation of the arts through audience and artist exchange and outreach.

CURRENT AND HISTORICAL ARTIST SUPPORT PROGRAMS

Local Artist in Residence
Recipients receive 40 hours of donated rehearsal space and production support for a weekend presentation of their work. Two residencies are offered per year for live performance artists.

Out of Town Dance Residence
Guest Artists from out of state presented annually in our space. This could include them working with our local co.da dance company or with member’s of the community to set a piece and offering master classes or showing their own work with their own company members or similar.

Suite
Series dedicated to a trio of local women choreographers with a community outreach element.

The Sugar Show
The Sugar Show features the work of emerging and mid-career dance artists specializing in live performance. At the culmination of the event, a panel as well as the audience, will choose a winner from the selected finalists. The winner of The Sugar Show will receive $1,000 and full production support for a weekend of performances. 2 categories include Adult and 18 and under.

Sugar Space co.da
co.da is Sugar Space’s Professional Cooperative Dance Company. Members audition and participate in six month increments. They collaboratively produce a show, offer weekly technique class to the community, organize a fundraiser and work with an out of town guest artist to learn a piece and include that work in the final show.

Visual Arts
We provide various opportunities for visual artist’s to show and/or sell work as well as provide some support towards various exhibits. Artists also receive donated space to hold an opening or closing reception.

­Sugar Space Partnership Program – Theater, Music, Film, Dance, Mixed Media
We offer support multiple times a year for artists (theater, dance, music, spoken word, mixed media, live performance, etc.) who are self-producing and/or offering classes, workshops, events, and/or are in need of rehearsal space at reduced rates.

Administrative Support Services
Newsletter, Website and Facebook inclusion, Marketing Packages, Press Releases, Mentoring and other support services are offered to artists. We also provide an online artists opportunity job board to the community (www.artspost.org)
