Rental Policies
Cancellation Policy/Deposit
To reserve a rental date or dates, a non-refundable deposit and signed rental agreement is required. Client understands and agrees that Sugar Space will not book other clients during clients reserved time once deposit is received by Sugar Space. In the event that Client cancels the rental time slot(s) or fails to attend show up on rental date, for any reason, Sugar Space suffers losses that are difficult to ascertain. As such, Client agrees that, in the event of cancelation by Client, such deposit shall be forfeited by Client and paid to Sugar Space as liquidated damages and not as a penalty. Client and Sugar Space agree that deposit amount is reasonable. The paid deposit will be applied towards your final bill.
Renters who fail to show up for their reserved time will be charged for the full rental. All clients must make note of the date, time, and with whom they cancelled in order to receive credit.
30 days cancellation required when booking more than 6 total dates or 6+ weeks in advance. If renter fails to notify or cancel before that, they will be charged for the full scheduled rental time.
Payments
Payment in full must be received no less than 2 weeks prior to the event. An itemized invoice will be provided to the Responsible Party which shall list all selected services. Any payment not received at least 2 weeks prior to the event is subject to a $50 late fee. No event will be provided if full payment is not received at least 5 business days prior to the event.
Gratuity
Sugar Space does not charge gratuities for catering or any services. However, if you feel that you would like to tip our staff for a job well done, we welcome you to do so.
Catering
Sugar Space Arts Warehouse offers a wide range of catering menus to choose from and can provide customized menus upon request. In addition, clients are welcome to use outside caterers with advance notification.
For outside catering, please inform Sugar Space who your caterer is and we will coordinate all required details. Sugar Space will receive and disburse all payments for outside catering.
Rental parties are also welcome to provide their own food. Sugar Space is not liable for any food brought in by a renter. A preparation kitchen, triple wash sink, counter and small warming oven and burners are provided.
Smoking Policy
According to Utah State Law, smoking is not permitted inside or within 25 feet of Sugar Space.
Candles
Sugar Space does not allow open flames at our facility.
Decorating & Room Arrangements
The event party is welcome to bring in any outside decorations. Any alterations to Sugar Space’s items must be pre-approved by management. The event party is responsible to ensure that no damage is made to the facility or surrounding property and that all decorations are removed that evening by your rental end time. No glitter, confetti, or silly string allowed.
Audio/Visual Equipment
Sugar Space provides a sound system, house theatrical lighting and microphone for your convenience. Our staff cannot make announcements or run your music for you. If you plan to have dancing or will need an MC for your event, we recommend hiring a professional DJ. In order to have the equipment properly set up, please notify Sugar Space in advance if you plan to use any of this equipment.
Clean-Up & Damage
It is the event party’s responsibility to gather and remove their personal items within the given time frame. The Responsible Party will be held accountable for all missing property or damage to the facility. Sugar Space is not responsible for any items lost, stolen or left behind; however, we will do our best to contact you if any of these items are found. These items must be recovered in a timely manner or will be donated at our discretion.
Liability
Sugar Space is not responsible for any damage or injury incurred by the Responsible Party or any guests. Children must be supervised by an adult both in the building and on the property.
